Samuel L. Jackson better dust off his Nick Fury eye patch – the actor could be wearing it in nine more Marvel movies.
Despite reported contract negotiations breakdowns in January between Jackson and Marvel, the actor and the superhero factory have made a deal for the actor to reprise his role as Nick Fury, the one-eyed director of super-spy organization S.H.I.E.L.D., in the “Iron Man” sequel, according to Variety.
In addition to more screen time with Robert Downey Jr., Jackson’s contract includes the option to pay Fury in eight other potential future Marvel films, including “Captain America,” “Thor,” “The Avengers, " a S.H.I.E.L.D. film and all of the potential sequels for each title, the entertainment trade mag reported.
Jackson is not the only Hollywood star in talks with Marvel. Oscar-nominee Mickey Rourke and Sam Rockwell are also in the midst of contract negotiations to play villains in “Iron Man 2.”
Jon Favreau will return to the director’s chair when the sequel starts shooting in the spring, with a potential summer 2010 release.
