LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- Quinn Perkins displayed a disturbing new bloodthirsty streak during “Scandal’s” Season 2 finale and Katie Lowes says her once-prim and proper character’s fashion will reflect her darker psyche in Season 3.
“[Quinn] was really playing along with the original D.C. [fashion] rules, because she didn’t work for Olivia Pope yet. That was a choice,” Katie told Access Hollywood at the “Scandal” fashion display at Saks Fifth Avenue in New York City on Wednesday. “So when she was [first] coming in, it was a lot of the navy and the gray and the black suits from Brooks Brothers or Anne Taylor – and there’s nothing wrong with that. But the longer she worked for Olivia Pope, the further she was getting away from the rules of D.C. and she could therefore take more fashion risks.”
Will Quinn adopt the signature baggy hoodie look of her co-worker and mentor, Huck (Guillermo Diaz), now that she’s happily carrying out OPA’s dirty work?
“She’s definitely not Huck, in the sense that she’s feminine and it’s not like she’s gonna all of a sudden be [wearing] like a spy clothing look, but it’s definitely going to be different than the Quinn you saw,” Katie said, of Quinn’s evolving style. “And I’m very excited for people to see!”
Quinn’s Season 3 look will match her new attitude – and the actress hinted at a sexy edge to her once-squeaky clean character.
“It’s definitely racier, it’s definitely edgier. There are fishnets involved!” she said, laughing. “I’m excited for you guys. I’m bringing back the statement stocking. And the dresses I get to wear and the trench coats?! I mean, it is saucy and good!”
“Scandal” Season 3 premieres Thursday at 10/9c on ABC.
