Scooter Braun Says Justin Bieber's Movie Believe Addresses 'Everything'

Justin Bieber’s manager Scooter Braun opens up on Access Hollywood Live about Bieber’s new movie, “Believe.” What does he mean when he says the movie addresses “everything?” Plus, how is this movie different than “Never Say Never?” And, is there any truth to the rumors about Will Smith giving Bieber a pep talk during a low point? Justin’s new movie, “Believe,” opens Christmas day.

the cave, but hey, I'm okay. Scooter braun is with us and justin bieber's movie produced by you and justin comes out christmas day. It's called "believe." You say the movie addresses everything. Everything. You can't make a fluff piece with everything that goes on with him, so we made a film that addresses everything that's happened but does it in a way that -- it's a family movie. It's christmas time. So we try to tell a story and we try to give a lesson at the end of it, and I'm really proud of it. I'm proud of how it turned out and I'm proud of how honest he was. In the first film, he never actually gave an interview to camera. He spoke to the camera once about 30 seconds in the end. In this film he addresses the camera directly throughout the entire film and says in his own words exactly how he's feeling and lets you into a world very few people get to see. How about the article with will smith, that he shows up at her bedside? Is that all talk in the movie? I know people outside hollywood wonder if people are real. Will smith is one of the best people that lives in this town. He's a great dad, he's a superstar, but he's the best person. But he called me and he went over there, him and jada, and justin said later on, he goes, you really feel loved when you wake up and say, leave me alone, and there's will smith above you. He said, outside, me and you. He talked to him about don't fight it, and he now talks to will once a week. Will is an amazing person because he cares. One thing' heard will counsel other people on is the company you keep. Does he talk about changing up some of those friendships or everybody close to justin, are they all people you would have be there? Listen, he's 19. I can't walk in and say, today your friend is going to be a, b and c. We're having a playdate. Am I going to agree with every friend choice he makes? Yes or no, it doesn't matter. He has to make those choices. Like I said earlier, he'll figure that out. If he doesn't go through that, he is a robot. He's not. He's a human being, and that's one of the reasons fans love him so much, they can relate to his mistakes as much as they relate to his success. What do we walk away with, being blown away that surprises us about justin? How incredibly human he is. We make these stars so big we forget they're human beings and you forget he's 19. And he's pretty normal. And when you see him that vulnerable and you see him expressing himself, you remember that even though you see this name, you know, in the news all the time, you're dealing with a human being. And I think the vulnerability is what's so shocking. All right. Is he going to calm down on the driving fast in the neighborhood? Let's take the foot off the gas just a little. You drive fast on your vespa. Billy, when you were 19 -- when you were 19, what were you like? I was such an idiot. I'm still an idiot, but boy, if I had cameras on me, there is no way I would even have a job. I say this all the time when I defend bieber, look, he's just a kid. How long can he use that excuse? What do we say to that? He can't. There is not an excuse. It's the reality, and I'm not trying to say it's an excuse. I'm saying he's learning. Youn't say, it's okay, you're 19. But when he's 21, 22, 23, and he looks back and says, I made a mistake, that's normal. I don't think we're supposed to tell him there's no consequence, but I think we're supposed to look at it and say we're dealing with a person -- one of my friends said to me the other day, he's never met him before, sometimes I forget when you talk about him, oh, my god, he's actually a person. And from make a wish foundation -- over 200. No one has granted more wishes than this guy, and I always say this when I talk about justin bieber. He shows up unannounced at kids' hospital beds. This is not a pr thing. He has a very big heart and he lives on the edge for ones in the margins of life. There was no cameras around. For someone who we said is out of control, we just did 100 stadiums around the world. He didn't miss one show. He did a make a wish show before every single show, didn't miss one of those. We just got back from the philippines. We don't do this for those reasons, but it is frustrating for me when I see him do these things and the media is talking about something else. Talk about the mistakes, but talk about the other stuff. Make it fair. I believe you described that movie beautifully. I'll take you to the movie. You will? What are we doing after?
