Scott Weiland Released After 10 Hours In Jail

LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- Scott Weiland’s mug shot (May 2008)Caption Scott Weiland’s mug shot (May 2008)Rocker Scott Weiland was released from jail on Monday night, after serving less than ten hours of his 192-hour sentence on a DUI charge, Access Hollywood has confirmed.

The Stone Temple Pilots frontman turned himself into Van Nuys police shortly before 9 AM on Monday to begin serving his sentence stemming from a November 2007 misdemeanor drunken driving charge.

According to his booking sheet, he was booked at 12:15 PM, assigned a housing location at 6:41 PM and was released 14 minutes later at 6:54 PM.

Weiland, 40, pled no contest to the charge of drunken driving on April 28, his second DUI conviction. He was arrested on November 21 on a San Fernando Valley freeway off-ramp.

In addition to his now completed jail time, Weiland must still complete an 18-month alcohol program, as part of his sentence. He must also pay around $2,000 in fines. The rocker will also be on summary probation for four years.

Stone Temple Pilots will kick off a 65-date tour beginning May 17.
