CAMDEN, U.K. --

Actor Sean Bean was arrested on allegations of assault on Thursday, according to the Daily Mail.

The “Lord of the Rings” star, who played Boromir in the fantasy trilogy, was reportedly arrested at his home in Camden, North London, after a quarrel with his wife of five months, Georgina Sutcliffe. Allegedly, Sutcliffe called police saying she was being attacked, though she told the Daily Mail on Friday that things are “fine.”

“Everything is ok,” she said. “Everything was blown out of proportion. The police held him quite a while but Sean is fine and I am fine. There is not problem between us.”

The actor reportedly reiterated his wife’s comments, also telling the Daily Mail, “I’m fine.”

Bean was released on bail at 6 AM Friday morning after the charges against him were dropped.

“The allegations have subsequently been withdrawn and the bail charges dropped,” a spokesman for the Metropolitan Police confirmed to the Daily Mail.

It was the second movie star arrest for alleged assault in less than a week in London, following Christian Bale’s arrest after an alleged confrontation with his mother, Jenny.

The “Dark Knight” star reportedly “flew off the handle” after she said “some outrageous things” about his son and wife, Sandra ‘Sibi’ Blazic, according to reports.

Bean is on break from filming the latest episodes of “Sharpe,” a series of British historical television dramas. Sutcliffe is his fourth wife.
