With its muscular $70 million opening weekend despite scant appeal for guys, “Twilight” has redefined expectations for the chick flick.
While offering some high-flying vampire battles, its main action centers on the developing romance between two teens played by relative unknowns Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson. Women and girls made up more than 75 percent of the film’s opening-weekend audience, according to Fandango.com, which sells tickets and conducts surveys about recent releases.

Sarah Jessica Parker is hoping to shoot the sequel to the “Sex and The City” movie next summer.
“I think it’s a realistic timetable,” the actress told MTV News “That’s when we’d start shooting to be out in 2010. But that means we need to figure this out in the next couple of months.”

With over $413 million in box office receipts worldwide, “Sex and The City” was a big hit at the movie theater, but not with Jennifer Aniston.
In her interview with Jonathan Van Meter for Vogue magazine’s December 2008, new excerpts of which Access Hollywood obtained, Jennifer ended up revealing she wasn’t a “Sex” convert when Van Meter said he enjoyed her performance in the upcoming film, “He’s Just Not That Into You.”

Carrie, Samantha, Miranda and Charlotte will return in a sequel to the hit big screen version of “Sex and The City,” according to Kim Cattrall.
During an interview on Britain’s “The Paul O’Grady Show,” the actress told guest host, and frequent Access Hollywood correspondent, Mel B, “We will do the sequel next summer,” the BBC reported.

Sarah Jessica Parker has reached out to her “Sex and The City” co-star, Jennifer Hudson, following the tragic deaths of her mother, Darnell Donerson, and brother, Jason Hudson, on Friday. Jennifer’s 7-year-old nephew, Julian King, is still missing after disappearing from the family’s home.
“My heart goes out to her and her family in their time of anguish and grief,” Sarah said in a statement to Access Hollywood. “I pray for the safe return of her nephew.”
