Sheryl Crow Sets The Record Straight

Sheryl Crow has officially bounced back from the recent double-barreled dramas in her life ? battling breast cancer and breaking up with fiancé Lance Armstrong.

Now, the singer is ready to set the record straight on how her life has changed.

?It was really, really difficult for both of us, but in those moments when you realize, OK, I have to rely on my doctors and surround myself with people who can carry me through and be there emotionally for me really just consistently be there,? Sheryl told “Good Morning America.”

An emotional Sheryl dismissed reports that Lance turned his back on her after her cancer diagnosis in February ? a diagnosis which came just two-and-a-half weeks after the couple?s very public break up.

In August?s Vanity Fair, Sheryl also told writer Frank DiGiacomo it was her decision not to seek out Lance?s help.

?She told him not to come,? Frank DiGiacomo told us. ?It would be difficult to manage both diagnosis and what was going to happen with her life and having him there in terms of managing their breakup.?

?It was difficult,? Sheryl said. ?You know I know he wanted to be there. I would have loved for him to have swept in and carried me through.?

Now, four months after her diagnosis, Sheryl has a clean bill of health and not a bad word to say about Lance.

So, why the break up?

Sheryl?s keeping that piece of her life private.

Vanity Fair will be on newsstands July 11.
