Shia LaBeouf Sings 'Transformers' Co-Star Tyrese Gibson's Praises; Compares Actor To Dr. Ruth
Tyrese Gibson is a man of many talents – he acts, sings, raps, models and recently penned an inspirational memoir, “How to Get Out of Your Own Way.”
However, his “Transformers: Dark of the Moon” co-star, Shia LaBeouf, says the multi-talented actor is a lot like 83-year-old psychologist/sex therapist Dr. Ruth!
“Tyrese is like Flavor Flav, Djimon Hounsou and Dr. Ruth in one man,” Shia told Access Hollywood guest correspondent Tim Vincent during a “Tranformers: Dark of the Moon” press junket in Moscow on Friday.
“Where does the Dr. Ruth thing come in?” a puzzled Tim asked with a laugh.
“He’s like a motivational speaker,” Shia explained. “Tyrese is the most consistent positive energy you’ve ever been around in your life — even on the set. He and Rosie [Huntington-Whiteley] were like the cheerleaders for us.
“Me and [director Michael Bay] are emotional and aggressive and we go through our ruminations, and [Tyrese and Rosie] sort of are the consistency,” he continued. “Josh [Duhamel] too, come to think of it. They’re all really solid that way. It is a family!”
In related news, in addition to acting as a “cheerleader” with Tyrese for the “Transformers” crew, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley – a newcomer to the sci-fi robot franchise — revealed to Tim that her parents provided the inspiration she needed to cheer herself on through the action movie’s grueling schedule and physically demanding scenes.
“[My family] is what I would always think about when we were filming in some awful location, in some sweaty, dusty, chaotic mess,” the beauty said. “I would be thinking, ‘Just think of Mom and Dad and how happy they’re going to be!’”
“Transformers: Dark of the Moon” hits theaters on Wednesday.
