LOS ANGELES, Calif. --

The world’s most influential man is “Mad.”

According to over 500,000 voters on AskMen.com, “Mad Men” character Don Draper – played by Jon Hamm – is the Most Influential Man of 2009.

While Don, being fictional, was unable to offer a comment on his honor, the AMC show’s creator, Matthew Weiner, did make a statement to the site.

“It’s interesting how drinking, smoking and carousing wins the race today, no offense to President Obama and Mr. Bolt,” he said.

Weiner referred to Don’s runner-ups – Usain Bolt, the world’s fastest man, at No. 2; and President Barack Obama at No. 3. Outside of Draper, the list was composed of real people.

Facebook creator Mark Zuckerberg took the fourth spot, with “American Idol” judge Simon Cowell, the late King of Pop Michael Jackson, Apple CEO Steve Jobs, athletes Roger Federer and Payton Manning and UFC president Dana White rounding out the top 10.

Other notable stars on the list ranged from the most influential man on Twitter, Ashton Kutcher, at No. 17; Hollywood superstars George Clooney and Brad Pitt at Nos. 20 and 21; Sexiest Man Alive Hugh Jackman at No. 32; and “Twilight Saga” star Robert Pattinson at No. 44.
