“Dancing with the Stars” frontrunner J.R. Martinez stopped by Access Hollywood Live on Friday where the beloved actor celebrated Veterans Day with Billy Bush and Kit Hoover, and dished on how his “All My Children” role landed him not only a steady paycheck, but a lovely lady as well.
“I first met her in 2008 when I joined ‘All My Children,’” J.R. told Billy and Kit, of girlfriend Diana Gonzalez-Jones, who was the assistant to the soap’s executive producer at the time. “We were friends, and, you know, it was a workplace, so you don’t want to cross the line. I was respectful of that, and for about two years we were great friends.”

Tissues were on hand but there were few tears among two dozen soap opera fans gathered to watch “All My Children” sign off from the ABC television network on Friday after more than 40 years.
That’s because the screen faded to black with a gunshot and a cliffhanger — an indication that the story may not be dead, even if the television series is. ABC has licensed the story to a production company, Prospect Park, that is hoping to keep “All My Children” going online after the first of next year.

Erica Kane wouldn’t leave quietly if she felt she’d been wronged. Neither is Susan Lucci as “All My Children” nears its end on ABC.
Lucci has memorably portrayed Kane on the drama, which airs its last episode on ABC on Sept. 23, and it’s unclear whether she will be a part of an attempt to migrate the series online.
