Sophia Bush Opens Up About Cousin's Death
Sophia Bush is opening up about the tragic death of her cousin, 9-year-old Christina Green, who was killed over the weekend during the attack on U.S. Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords in Tucson, Ariz.
“It’s been a lesson more than anything for me and for my family that life is incredibly short,” the “One Tree Hill” star told Chelsea Handler on Monday night’s “Chelsea Lately.” “You’ve gotta take every day and tell the people you love that you do.
“It’s really important for all of us to take a step back. It’s easy to get heated and to scream and yell about what’s going on in the world, but when it’s getting irresponsible, when it’s getting out of control in the world of journalism and television,” Sophia continued.
“Anything that incites any sort of violence,” Chelsea added. “I’m the biggest bully there is. I make fun of everybody… But you can’t ever, ever suggest violence.”
As previously reported on AccessHollywood.com, following the January 8 tragedy, which left six dead and another 14 injured, Sofia Tweeted about Christina, the incident’s youngest victim, saying, “She was my 2nd cousin… Devastating…”
Adding later in another Tweet, “There are no words to explain what my cousin’s family is going through in Arizona… How can this be? Violence is never the answer…”
