Source: Jessica Simpson & Tony Romo Have Split

LOS ANGELES, Calif. --

Jessica Simpson and Tony Romo’s relationship rollercoaster took yet another unexpected twist — and has reportedly perhaps indeed now come to a complete stop.

Access Hollywood reported earlier this week that there is “no truth” to the rumors that the couple had gone their separate ways — this was based on comments from a rep for Jessica.

Today, a source tells Access Jessica and Tony have indeed broken up.

According to our source, the pressures of their individual careers have taken their toll on the couple. Tony would prefer a girlfriend who is able to devote a large chunk of her time to supporting his career, according to the source. Jessica’s busy schedule as a pop star could have been a factor in their split.

The source goes on to say Tony was very aware that his trip last weekend to Chicago club Manor would be splashed across magazines and websites.

Jessica’s father and manager, Joe Simpson, is reportedly upset about the split, the source said. The two spent a great deal of time together, golfing and hanging out.

As for the reported upcoming wedding of Jessica’s sister Ashlee to Pete Wentz of Fall Out Boy this weekend, the source said Tony will not be attending.
