LOS ANGELES, Calif. --
It appears Star Jones won’t be keeping a copy of Barbara Walter’s memoir, “Audition,” on her bookshelf.
“It is a sad day when an icon like Barbara Walters, in the sunset of her life, is reduced to publicly branding herself as an adulterer, humiliating an innocent family with accounts of her illicit affair and speaking negatively against me all for the sake of selling a book,” Star told Us Weekly exclusively. “It speaks to her true character.”
In her memoir, Barbara claims Star made her lie about her gastric bypass surgery during their time on “The View” together. Barbara also opens for the first time about an affair she had with a then-married Senator Edward Brooke in the ‘70’s.
A rep for Barbara responded to Star’s statement, telling the mag, “I will not dignify this with a comment. Barbara’s written words say it all!”
