Stars Catch World Cup Fever After USA Win

The World Cup might be half way around the globe in South Africa, but Hollywood was glued to the action on the field on Wednesday morning as they watched the American team advance to the second round following a win over Algeria.

“USA!!!!! USA USA #USA #USA #USA,” “Late Night” host Jimmy Fallon Tweeted following Landon Donovan’s amazing last minute goal.

ESPN analyst Erin Andrews also appeared impressed with Landon’s skills on the field, Tweeting, “Amazing…USA!”

Twitter royalty Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moore were naturally busy sharing their thoughts about the big game with their millions of followers.

“USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA USA,” Ashton exuberantly wrote, asking his fans to reTweet the same message.

Demi was a little less wordy with her excitement, writing, “Go USA! Yeahhhhhh!!!!!!”

Joel Madden was overjoyed with the American team placing first in its group – something they have not accomplished since 1930.

“USA!!!! Top the group!!!! Awesome!!!” Joel wrote on his Twitter account.

“Brothers & Sisters” star and former “Dancing with the Stars” contestant Gilles Marini commended the Algerian team on their efforts but celebrated the big win for America, writing, “YEahhhhh !! Usa USA USA USA .. So good .! Algeria fought well . But U cannot ever count the United States of AMERICA. I am loving it.”

Funny man and “Community” star Joel McHale celebrate the win too, but seemed a little confused about proper soccer lingo.

“Touch down!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!” Joel jokingly Tweeted.

The US team will play again this weekend – against Ghana — and we’re sure Hollywood will be watching!
