LOS ANGELES, Calif. --
Matt Damon and Jude Law take on a deadly disease. Katherine Heigl trades in her lingerie to become a bounty hunter. Plus, “Green Lantern” finds a Senator in Tim Robbins. It’s all in the latest edition of the Access Hollywood Casting Call!
Director Steven Soderbergh has lined up a slew of Hollywood’s hottest actors for his new film, “Contagion.” According to Variety, Matt Damon and Jude Law are set for the project, which revolves a deadly disease. Also, Marion Cotillard and Kate Winslet are reportedly in talks to join the multiple plotline pic, which will reportedly be told in a style similar to Soderbergh’s “Traffic.”
“Contagion” is aiming to start shooting later in 2010.
Damon was most recently seen in “Invictus,” for which he earned a Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role Oscar nomination. On March 12, he’s back on the big screen in Paul Greengrass’ Iraq drama “Green Zone.”

Katherine Heigl is reportedly slated to star in “One for the Money,” a project that Reese Witherspoon was previously attached to. According to Variety, Heigl will play an unemployed lingerie buyer who leaves her life of panties and bras behind for bounty hunting. The film is based on Janet Evanovich’s novel of the same name and comes from a series with a whopping 15 novels already in print – with a 16th hitting bookstores in the summer.
Columbia Pictures and Lakeshore Entertainment are reportedly searching for a director for the project with a shooting start date yet-to-be determined.
Besides playing Dr. Izzie Stevens on TV’s “Grey’s Anatomy,” Heigl is starring with Ashton Kutcher in “Killers,” which hits theaters on June 4. She last appeared on the big screen opposite Gerard Butler in the rom-com “The Ugly Truth.”
*****
Ryan Reynolds’s “Green Lantern” has found a dad for its villain in the form of Tim Robbins. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Robbins will play Senator Hammond, the father of Dr. Hector Hammond, played by Peter Sarsgaard.
Blake Lively is also starring in the Warner Bros. comic book movie, which is slated to start filming in New Orleans in March.
Reynolds will keep busy with another comic book adaptation, in Marvel’s “Deadpool,” which is currently in active development. He previously played the comic book mercenary in “X-Men Origins: Wolverine.”
The actor was also a big hit at the 2010 Sundance Film Festival, where his thriller “Buried” was picked up by Lionsgate for what was reported to be between $3 million - $4 million.
