“Survivor” winner Richard Hatch says he’s the victim of a “witch hunt” by federal prosecutors.
Hatch completed a tax evasion sentence earlier this month. He complained to NBC’s “Today” show Tuesday that he was taken from his sister’s apartment while wearing boxer shorts in August and held in solitary confinement for 30 days after granting TV interviews without permission.

BOURNE, Mass.
“Survivor” winner Richard Hatch has been released from a Massachusetts jail after completing a sentence for evading taxes on the $1 million he won during the CBS reality show’s first season.
Barnstable County Sheriff spokesman Roy Lyons said Hatch was freed at about 6 a.m. Friday from the Barnstable County Jail in Bourne, southeast of Boston. Lyons said he was taken home to Rhode Island.

Former “Survivor” Richard Hatch was scheduled to be released from jail today, but will remain in jail for an additional nine days, Access Hollywood has learned.
“Rich was ordered to an additional 9 days as punishment for allegedly not having obtained the requisite permissions to conduct the Access Hollywood and NBC Channel 10 Providence on-camera interviews, or for calling in to a radio show the following day,” Hatch’s lawyer, Cynthia M. Ribas told Access.

The American Civil Liberties Union has asked a federal judge to release “Survivor” winner Richard Hatch, arguing that he was put back in jail in retaliation for criticizing the government.
A federal prosecutor countered Monday at a hearing in Boston that Hatch violated prison rules and should serve the rest of his sentence behind bars.
