British singing sensation Susan Boyle reportedly came home to an unexpected guest late Tuesday night – an intruder, Access Hollywood has confirmed.

When the singer returned to her Blackburn, West Lothian, home in Scotland, she encountered a man inside.

“Lothian and Borders Police were called to an address in Blackburn at around 9:50 PM yesterday following reports of a disturbance,” a police report said. “A man was detained in connection with the incident and released without charge pending further inquiries.”

Access spoke to Susan’s brother, Gerry Boyle, on Tuesday who said his sister’s home had been robbed, but noted his sister — and her cat — were unharmed.

“As far as I know Susan and Pebbles are OK,” Gerry told Access.

According to the BBC, a 16-year-old male was questioned about the incident but then released.

“The owner was very distressed to find someone had been within her home and we are keen to speak to anyone who can assist with our investigations,” authorities told the BBC. “Anyone who was in or around Yule Terrace at the time of the incident and saw or heard anything suspicious is asked to contact police immediately.”

According to People, Susan had just returned home from London, where she was recording her part of Simon Cowell’s re-recording of R.E.M.‘s “Everybody Hurts,” which will benefit earthquake victims in Haiti.

The next day, Susan appeared to be in better spirits reportedly telling well-wishers outside her home, “I’m fine. It’s in the hands of the police now.”

Though Susan has become a worldwide superstar, the 48-year-old still lives in her humble home that she grew up in.
