Taye Diggs & Idina Menzel Expecting First Child

LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- Caption Idina Menzel and her husband Taye Diggs arrives at the 62nd Annual Tony Awards Actors Taye Diggs and Idina Menzel are expecting their first child together.

A rep for the “Private Practice” star confirmed the news to Access Hollywood on Tuesday.

The baby is due later this year. Us Weekly was the first to report the pregnancy.

Diggs, 38, and Menzel, 37, began dating after meeting in 1996 on the set of the Broadway play, “Rent.” They were married in January 2003.

Menzel, a Tony-award winning actress for originating the Elphaba role in “Wicked,” recently joined her husband on the set of his hit ABC show – she appeared in last week’s “Private Practice” as a guest star and will appear in a few more episodes.
