Taylor Momsen: ‘I Quit Acting’

LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- Caption Taylor Momsen of the The Pretty Reckless attends a free acoustic show at The Hard Rock Cafe in Hollywood, Calif. on April 21, 2011 Taylor Momsen has gone from adorable “Gossip Girl” star to a rebellious “Reckless” rocker, and now comes Taylor’s latest eyebrow-raiser – she says she’s quitting acting, for good!

“I quit acting,” she said in a new interview for ELLE magazine. “I quit ‘Gossip Girl’ and now tour and am in a band and that’s pretty much all I want to do.

“Hopefully I’ll be able to only do that for the rest of my life,” the 18-year-old Pretty Reckless singer said.

In May, a source close to The CW show confirmed to Access Hollywood that Taylor, who plays school girl Jenny Humphrey on the hit series, would not be returning to “Gossip Girl” next season.

It’s not the only gig Taylor lost this year.

Back in January, she was replaced by Kelly Osbourne as the face of Madonna and daughter Lourdes’ Material Girl fashion line.

But Taylor told ELLE her gig with Pretty Reckless will keep her pretty busy.

“We’re on tour forever! We’re actually starting a tour with Evanescence in the fall in the US, it goes all around the US and then around Europe — the UK, Germany — so that’s really exciting,” she told the mag. “That’s for the next couple of months, so we’re pretty much on the road until at least 2012. And then it will continue!”
