LOS ANGELES, Calif. --

“The Bachelor’s” Jason Mesnick is engaged to Molly Malaney.

Jason, who shocked fans when dumped his original choice, Melissa Rycroft, on national TV, has asked Molly to be his wife, Access Hollywood has confirmed.

The couple returned to New Zealand – where Jason first selected Melissa over Molly.

According to a People source close to couple, they have returned to New Zealand so that “Jason can do what he should have done in the last time he was here, and ask Molly to marry him.”

Jason popped the question on Tuesday night and Molly accepted his proposal.

As for Melissa – she too found love following Jason’s on-air dump.

As previously reported on AccessHollywwood.com, the former “Dancing With the Stars” and “Bachelor” beauty got engaged to boyfriend Tye Strickland in June.
