The Boss thinks Barack Obama should be the real boss.

Rock star Bruce Springsteen has endorsed Obama for president. Springsteen says the Illinois senator speaks to the America that he’s envisioned in his music for the past 35 years.

In a letter posted on his Web site, Springsteen says he believes Obama is the best candidate to undo what he calls “the terrible damage done over the past eight years.”

The bard of New Jersey is known for his lyrics about the struggles of working-class Americans.

Springsteen did not directly mention Hillary Rodham Clinton. He did appear to take issue with her recent criticisms of comments made by Obama about working-class voters in small towns in Pennsylvania and controversial statements by his retired pastor, the Reverend Jeremiah Wright.
