CBS’ ‘The Good Wife’ Wants Donald Rumsfeld To Appear As Himself But Nixes Idea For Now

LOS ANGELES, Calif.

The latest idea for a real-life cameo on the CBS drama “The Good Wife” — former Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld — has been nixed before it even got anywhere. The Golden Globe-nominated drama has had public figures occasionally appear as themselves, including Vernon Jordan, Lou Dobbs and Joe Trippi.

Producers of the show said Friday they were writing an episode with a role for Rumsfeld, who was the defense secretary in George W. Bush and Gerald Ford’s administrations.

America Ferrera is going from “Ugly” to “Good.”

A rep for CBS confirmed that the former “Ugly Betty” star will join the cast of “The Good Wife” as a guest star, playing Natalie, a graduate student, set to shakeup campaign manager Eli’s (played by Alan Cumming) romantic life.

2010 continued to be a year during which reality shows took a back seat to great writing and great drama. Scripted shows consistently remained in the Top 20 most watched programs, as viewers are growing tired of fake catfights and cooked up table-flipping gimmicks.

Of course, viewing is subjective and I make no apologies for my list… but here I present my favorite shows of 2010. See the list inside….
