PASADENA, Calif. -- There are just four episodes left of NBC’s “The Office” franchise, and the employees of Dunder-Mifflin are starting to realize that agreeing to do a documentary wasn’t the best idea.
“It’s donning on them that, ‘Oh my gosh, they’ve been tracking every single moment of what we’ve been doing and now it’s about to come out!’” Ellie Kemper, who plays Erin Hannon on the show, told AccessHollywood.com’s Laura Saltman on Monday at NBC’s Press Day in Pasadena, Calif.
“I don’t think any of us would want a camera on us all the time and these people were documented doing everything so, the wheels start coming off the bus,” Angela Kinsey, who plays Angela Martin on the comedy, added.
Earlier this year — at the Sundance Film Festival — Steve Carell told Access Hollywood correspondent Tim Vincent that he hoped to go back to say hello to his old cast before they wrapped things up. But when Laura suggested to “The Office” actresses that Steve’s comments had her wondering if that was actually a ruse to explain away his presence on set again, the two didn’t offer a set-the-record-straight style answer.
“He himself cameoed as a human being on our set during some of the last weeks, which was very nice to see him,” Ellie said of Steve stopping by to say, “Hi.”
“Is Greg Daniels here somewhere?” Angela joked, referencing “The Office’s” executive producer. “No, I just think if you’re a fan of the show you should tune in because there’s gonna be some great things.”
“The Office” airs Thursday nights at 9/8c on NBC.
