Tim McGraw's concert got physical on July 13 when a fan got too hands-on with the singer.
During a show in Atlanta, the 47-year-old country singer was working the crowd, high-fiving people from the stage, when a female fan grabbed the singer's jeans.
In a video posted on TMZ, Tim is seen making contact with the woman in question, where it appears he reaches down and slaps her. However, his rep said the singer was simply acting on instinct in an effort to prevent a potential wardrobe malfunction.
"At the end of the night during the encore, Tim was singing out in the audience and someone firmly grabbed onto his leg and wouldn't let go as he was moving through the crowd," the rep said in a statement to Access Hollywood. "He instinctively swatted to try to keep them from ripping his jeans (which they succeeded at doing!), and so he could get to more fans who could slap hands with him before the end of the show."
The rep contends that Tim was just trying to keep his jeans intact while singing "Truck Yeah."
"He didn't know who had grabbed him and was simply trying to keep his jeans from being torn," the statement continued.
Following the incident, which left Tim with a hole in his pants, the woman was escorted away by security.
This is not the first time that a fan has got a little too close to the singer's goods.
In 2007, a fan grabbed Tim's crotch at a concert in Louisiana, while he performed with wife Faith Hill, who was not pleased.
"Somebody needs to teach you some class, my friend. You don't go grabbin' somebody else's, somebody's husband's balls, you understand me? That's very disrespectful." Faith reportedly said to the handsy concertgoer.
