As Tom Cruise and his guests traveled to New York City from Paris, for the third stop on his “Edge of Tomorrow” premiere tour on Wednesday, one of his classic films played on the in-flight monitors – “Top Gun.”
“That wasn’t my plan,” Tom laughed, as he spoke with Access Hollywood guest correspondent Tim Vincent at the NYC premiere.
And at his “Edge of Tomorrow” NYC premiere, Tom said “Top Gun 2” is still in the works.
“Jerry [Bruckheimer] and I, we’re working on it,” Tom told Tim. “If we can figure it out it’ll be a lot of fun,
“I’d like to get back in those jets if we could figure the story out,” Tom added.
Jerry, a producer on the original 1986 film, told Access Hollywood’s Scott “Movie” Mantz at WonderCon in April about the idea for the sequel’s plot.
“Is the pilot obsolete? We don’t think so and so the movie will tell you a great story,” Jerry said.
