The romcom ‘90s powerhouse duo of Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan are in talks to reunite.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Tom is in talks to make a cameo in Meg’s directorial debut, “Ithaca,” the film adaption of William Saroyan’s 1943 novel, “The Human Comedy.”
The story takes place in California’s San Joaquin Valley in 1942 and follows the journey of a 14-year-old telegraph bike messenger, Homer Macauley, who has to care for his family while his older brother fights in World War II.
Tom, who is also the film’s executive producer, is reportedly in talks to play Homer’s father alongside Melanie Griffith, Sam Shepard and Meg’s real-life son, Jack Quaid.
“Ithaca” will mark the fourth time Tom and Meg have worked together. First in 1990’s “Joe Versus the Volcano,” then in 1993’s “Sleepless in Seattle” and 1998’s “You’ve Got Mail.”
