“Da Vinci’s Demons” star Tom Riley is set to appear in an upcoming episode of“Doctor Who.”
Tom’s episode was penned by Mark Gatiss and will air as part of the new season of “Doctor Who,” which stars Peter Capaldi as the new Doctor, according to BBC One (the network that airs the show in the UK) and BBC America (which airs the show stateside).
“Well that’s out then,” Tom Tweeted, responding to the announcement.
“I’ve been a massive fan since I was even smaller than Jenna,” he continued, referring to the Doctor’s petite companion, played by actress Jenna Coleman. “Very excited.”
Tom called Mark’s script, “awesome.”
The British actor’s own series, “Da Vinci’s Demons,” which sees him playing a young Leonardo Da Vinci, airs Saturday nights at 9 PM ET/PT on Starz.
Currently, his character is hoping to travel on the high seas in a quest to rescue friend Nico (“Game of Thrones” alum Eros Vlahos), and obtain the Book of Leaves, which he hopes will put an end to the wars of men, like the one that just raged through his beloved Florence.
