Now, that’s Amore!

The Italians were not shy about their affection for Tom Cruise and his co-stars at the “Mission Impossible: 3” premiere in Rome.

“Have you ever changed her?” a woman called out to Tom, as he waved to fans in the central Piazza del Popolo in Rome.

“Have I ever?” Tom laughed. “All the time! I changed her first. I change diapers all the time. I actually, I have to tell you, I love it. We got a whole system worked out, OK! She does the, it’s the ‘B & B.’ She does the breast-feeding, and I do the burping.

One year ago, it was the city of Rome that saw Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes take their love public.

Today, the city is where Tom is taking “Mission Impossible: 3” public. And it’s the place where the fans are going absolutely crazy for the new dad!

Tom’s Rome appearance, along with “Mission” director and friend J.J. Abrams, was a bit of a surprise but it delighted the worldwide press.

“Have you slept once, since the baby was born, by the way?” J.J. Abrams asked.

“No, I haven’t slept at all,” Tom laughed. “I have my daughter, newborn, and uh, I didn’t want to leave her, and Kate. I wasn’t going to come. And then Kate said, ‘Please, go, go, you’ve got all, you know, the whole cast and the world premiere here!’ and so, I’m here. And I’ll be here for a few hours and I’m going to get back on an airplane and I’m going to go home to Kate and Suri.”

But Access has a mission of our own: finding out as much as information as possible about Tom’s daughter!

A beaming Tom shared intimate details about the birth of his and Katie’s newborn.

“Who was the first person you called?” Access’ Tony Potts asked.

“Her parents, Marty and Kathleen, were the first people we spoke with,” Tom said. “I can tell you, you know, she has a huge mop of beautiful hair, and we have the same haircut! Hers is a little like mine, you know?”

“I mean really, but she’s beautiful,” Tom laughed.

“Suri? Am I pronouncing it?” Tony asked.

“Suri, yes,” Tom said.

“What does the name mean?” Tony asked.

“In Hebrew, it means ‘Princess’ and in Persian, it means ‘Red Rose,’” Tom explained.

“Was there much debate?” Tony asked.

“Friends of ours sent us these books and we thought, oh, it’ll be fun to look at it,” Tom said. “It was (in) the second book that we looked at. All of a sudden, Suri! We looked at each other and went, ‘Suri,’ and that was it.

“Bam! That was the moment?” Tony asked.

“Bam!” Tom laughed. “Took a couple of minutes and that was it. That’s how I am, you know. It’s either right or it’s ‘No.’ Not a big story. On the floor. Found it. Bam! This is it.”
