“Top Chef” host Padma Lakshmi has made no secret of her love of food, and now the model has a reason to indulge in every craving – she’s pregnant.
The 39-year-old is expecting her first child, a rep for the star confirmed to Access Hollywood.
The news is joyous for the beauty as she suffers from endometriosis, which in some cases can lead to infertility.
“As a result of her condition, this pregnancy has been referred to by her physician as nothing short of a medical miracle, and due to its delicate nature, we ask/implore the press to respect Ms. Lakshmi’s privacy at this time,” Padma’s rep said in a statement to Us Weekly, which first reported the news.
No details were available about the father of the baby.
Padma was previously married to “Satanic Versus” author Salman Rushdie, but the two divorced after three years of marriage in 2007.
The star showed off her baby bump on the red carpet at the Emmys last month.
