The craze for celebrity baby pictures is reaching new heights with the reported recent exclusive photo purchases of Jessica Alba and Matthew McConaughey’s new bundles of joy. And while it appears Brad and Angelina are set to break the bank with shots of their newest additions, here’s the current list of the top ten most expensive celebrity baby shots!
More than $11 million – Knox Leon & Vivienne Marcheline
According to the AP, the first pictures of the newborn twins to Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt are reportedly worth more than $11 million dollars, with some speculating $15 to $20 million. The proceeds that the couple receives from the highly anticipated snapshots of their twins, which brings the Jolie-Pitt family to a total of six children, will be donated to charity.
$6 million – Max & Emme Anthony
Second place goes to Max and Emme, the fraternal twins of Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony. Keeping the pregnancy a secret for nearly five months paid off for J-Lo! The twins’ photos sold exclusively for $6 million and was featured on the March 2008 cover of People.
$4.1 million – Shiloh Nouvel Jolie-Pitt
Shiloh Nouvel, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s first biological child, appeared in People in June 2006, for $4.1 million dollars. The couple donated the money to African children’s charities. In addition to the large People payment for Shiloh, the newborn shots also earned the couple a reported $3.5 million from Hello! for the British rights.
$3 million – Levi Alves McConaughey
The first pictures of little Levi, born on July 7, 2008, to actor Matthew McConaughey and his girlfriend Camila Alves were reportedly sold to OK! for $3 million. According to the New York Post, McConaughey hired Todd Shemarya, who sold the Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie $4 million Shiloh pictures, to broker the deal. According to TMZ, the deal includes Levi’s first Christmas, additional newborn photos, and the first rights to the couple’s wedding photos when (and if) they marry. Those photos would be an additional price tag, of course.
$2 million – Dannielynn Smith
The untimely death of Anna Nicole Smith in 2007 kicked off an extensive custody battle for Smith’s little girl, Dannielynn. When it was confirmed that Larry Birkhead was the biological father, OK! bought the photos of the father and daughter for reportedly $2 million for their April 2007 cover.
$2 million – Pax Thien Jolie-Pitt
Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s son, Pax Thien, who they adopted from Vietnam in 2007, earned the couple a reported $2 million dollars for his first publicized photos. Shots of Jolie and Pax taken after the adoption of the three-year-old sold to People magazine for their March 2007 cover, and photos of the two were also sold to Hello!.
$1.5 million – Max Liron Bratman
Christina Aguilera appeared with her newborn baby, Max, on the February 2008 cover of People. Exclusive photos of the baby, fathered by Aguilera’s husband Jordan Bratman, reportedly scored the couple $1.5 million.
$1.5 million – Honor Marie Warren
Jessica Alba’s newborn baby girl, Honor Marie, was born on June 7, 2008, to her and her husband, producer Cash Warren. After originally declining offers, TMZ reports that Alba decided to sell the exclusive photos to OK! for a reported $1.5 million. Similar to McConaughey, the deal, according to TMZ, “consists of pictures of the baby now, and one other ‘event’ - Christmas, Thanksgiving, vacation, etc.”
$1 million – Harlow Winter Kate Madden
Nicole Ritchie and boyfriend Joel Madden’s little girl, Harlow Winter Kate Madden, was born on January 11, 2008. Harlow quickly earned a reported winning bid of $1 million from People. The shot appeared on the March 2008 cover.
$1 million – Maddie Briann Aldridge
Jamie Lynn Spears, the little sister of pop star Britney Spears, and her boyfriend Casey Aldridge gave birth to their baby girl Maddie Briann on June 19, 2008, in Mississippi. The newborn snapshots earned the teenage couple a reported $1 million photo spread in OK! magazine, where she also announced news of her pregnancy last December.
