A Hollywood private investigator was convicted Thursday on charges that he schemed to dig up dirt for his well-heeled clients to use in lawsuits, divorces and contract disputes against the rich and famous.

Anthony Pellicano, 64, was accused of wiretapping stars such as Sylvester Stallone, and running the names of others, such as Gary Shandling and Kevin Nealon, through law enforcement databases to help clients in legal and other disputes.

Rapper Remy Ma Sentenced To 8 Years In Prison

Remy Ma has been sentenced to eight years in prison in the shooting a woman outside a Manhattan nightclub.

The state Supreme Court sentence was handed Tuesday to the 26-year-old rapper, whose real name is Remy Smith, for assault, weapon possession and attempted coercion.

Remy Ma, who could have faced up to 25 years in prison, was teary-eyed as she heard the sentence.

Following an emotional day in court on Thursday, Uma Thurman’s stalker trial continued Friday.

Jack Jordan has been indicted on five counts total — the first count is attempting to commit crime of coercion in the first degree, the 2nd count is stalking in the fourth degree and counts 3 through 5 are for aggravated harassment in the second degree — all counts took place from May 2005 through August 2007.

12:05 PM EDT - Jordan speaks about going to Uma’s apartment on multiple occasions until he was arrested at her home.

“Her assistant told me Uma was there and she would be down. Then a squad car came and I was issued a trespassing summons,” Jordan explains.

After more questions by his attorney, Jordan talks about how he saw it playing out.

“I was guided by an ethic of protection… I was imagining a very romantic relation with this. I never wanted to cause her distress,” Jordan concludes.

A judge on Wednesday tossed out a lawsuit by a television writer who claimed Jennifer Lopez had a hand in stealing his idea for a TV series.

Writer Jack Bunick claimed in a lawsuit in U.S. District Court in Manhattan that the series “South Beach” that debuted in January 2006 was too similar to a plot he described in 1999 for a pilot episode of a show that would have been called “South Beach Miami.” The lawsuit named Lopez, UPN, CBS Television and others as defendants.

3:45 PM EDT — An Access Hollywood PA ended up in the elevator with Jack Jordan and his lawyer during the latest break. And the lawyer said to Jordan, “It was so surreal talking to her about ‘Kill Bill”! Then, they both kind of laughed.

Our PA reports that the attorney seemed to be getting a kick out of talking to a celebrity. Then Jordan said, “It’s weird she didn’t see any connection between the (headless) bride picture and the movie.”

Orange County prosecutors have charged Bon Jovi guitarist Richie Sambora with two misdemeanor counts of driving under the influence of alcohol and driving with a blood-alcohol level above the legal limit.

The 48-year-old Sambora was pulled over in Laguna Beach on March 25 after allegedly being seen swerving and straddling two lanes. The district attorney’s office says his blood-alcohol level was .13 percent, nearly twice the legal limit.

"Girls Gone Wild" founder Joe Francis is being released from a Nevada jail so he can return to Florida to face charges related to the filming of underage girls.

His lawyer told a federal judge in Reno on Monday that Florida has agreed to lift its no-bail arrest warrant against the filmmaker, who is being held here on federal tax fraud charges.

Britney Spears’ conservatorship case will not be moved to a federal court and will remain in Los Angeles Superior Court, a judge has ruled.

Attorney Jon Eardley, who had claimed to be representing the pop star, had filed paperwork alleging the current conservatorship ruling was a violation of Britney's civil rights, and should be moved to the federal level for review.

However, on Tuesday, Federal District Judge Philip Gutierrez ruled Eardley, "had no authority to remove the case from State court."

In his lawsuit, Raymundo Ortega claimed Lohan was negligent when her car collided with his van after the actress left The Ivy. He also claimed the actress (who was underage at the time) had “consumed alcohol and became intoxicated” prior to the accident.

Ortega was seeking $200,000 in damages.
