Phillippe’s rep told Page Six, “It’s not true.” A rep for Witherspoon did not respond when asked for comment.Reese and Ryan have two children, Ava Elizabeth, 7, and Deacon, 3. Reese filed for divorce from Ryan on November 8, 2006, citing “irreconcilable differences.” In her petition she sought joint legal custody of the children and sole physical custody, with visitation for Phillippe. She requested “exclusive use of the family residence,” and asked for the court to terminate its ability to award spousal support to Phillippe. Ryan filed papers of his own in May of this year, in which he also cited “irreconcilable differences.” He requested joint custody of the kids, and asked that visitation rights be “equally allocated.” He did not request any spousal support from Reese, nor did he block her from requesting any from him. Upon the news of their separation, rumors circulated that the rift was due to an alleged affair Phillippe had with his “Stop Loss” co-star, Abbie Cornish. Cornish’s rep denied the affair to Reese was rumored to be romantically linked to her “Rendition” co-star, Jake Gyllenhaal, in April of this year, but reports of their involvement have since cooled.Witherspoon, an Academy Award winner (and !) will next be seen in the aforementioned thriller “Rendition” on October 12, and Phillippe’s “Stop Loss” opens on March 28, 2008.

Following up on an on-air argument between : Jake Gyllenhaal reportedly speaks of tension on the set while filming “Zodiac” in a report by . While the film has been quite , one virtually universal complaint has been that the movie is unnecessarily long. Well, Gyllenhaal says that the thoroughness of director David Fincher‘s filming process was difficult to endure at times for the actors as well, according to the report. Fincher would allegedly make the actors do up to 70 takes of a single scene, and Gyllenhall had this to say to THE DAILY NEWS of the experience: “All actors are like, ‘It was a great time.’ The truth is, sometimes you have a great time, sometimes you don?t.”

Hard to believe that it's been five years since David Fincher's last film (that would be 2002's "Panic Room"), but the visionary director is back with a doozie the sweeping $75 million-budgeted serial killer thriller "Zodiac." Though the super-intense subject matter is bound to invite comparisons to Fincher's best-known film, 1995's groundbreaking "Se7en," "Zodiac" is actually much closer in tone and spirit to the 1976 classic "All the President's Men" right down to the newsroom setting, the presence of a Deep Throat-style informant and an effective musical score composed by that film's David Shire.

Adams reports that : : : Speaking of “accessories,” it seems that : R.E.M. is preparing to get to work on a new album, reports , as they bask in the glow of their induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame this week. Tapped to produce the album is Jacknife Lee, best known for his work on U2‘s Grammy-winning “How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb” and Snow Patrol‘s “Final Straw.” Hopes are high that this will be a return to form for the band, who were reportedly disappointed with the way their last album, “Around the Sun,” turned out. And could the return of drummer Bill Berry be in the cards? Bassist Mike Mills doesn’t think it’s likely, despite the brief reunion they enjoyed at the Hall of Fame induction ceremony. “We’ve been fortunate enough to play with [Berry] several times in the past few years. Maybe we’ll do it again. He can’t wait to get back to his farm,” Mills told reporters Monday. “As a matter of fact, he’s already left,” lead singer Michael Stipe chimed in.
