overview
A self-proclaimed “observational comic,” Jerry Seinfeld started his rise in New York comedy clubs in 1976, including the famed “Catch a Rising Star.” In 1981, he appeared on “The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson” and his career was off and running.
In 1989, he teamed up with an old stand-up colleague, Larry David, to create a new sitcom for NBC, “The Seinfeld Chronicles.” Following a name change to merely “Seinfeld,” the show ran for nine seasons bringing numerous expressions in to the popular lexicon like “Soup Nazi” and “Puffy Shirt.” Following the success of “Seinfeld,” Jerry went back to standup and made his first foray into animated movies almost a decade later when he co-produced, co-wrote and starred in “Bee Movie” in 2007.
