LOS ANGELES, Calif. --
Tori Spelling has just released a new memoir, “Stori Telling,” and the book drops some bombshells.
Within its pages, Tori takes on mom Candy, with the startling accusations of marital infidelity.
“So many people have so many things about me – mostly false, so I wanted to tell my story,” Tori told Access Hollywood.
In the memoir, for the first time, Tori uses the word “affair” about her mom’s relationship with family friend, Mark Nathanson, during her dad Aaron Spelling’s final days.
In July 2006, Candy denied the affair and said they were just friends.
“That’s her truth to tell,” Tori told Access. “I did resent it, but she was there for my dad. I did resent Mark’s relationship with our family. He’s no longer in our lives, including our mother’s.”
Estranged from her mother and unable to handle the tension, Tori actually hopped over a hedge to escape the house after her father’s funeral.
“That’s very Tori style – me being non-confrontational,” Tori admits. “I was there to pay my respects for my father and I just wanted to leave.”
When Tori’s father died in June 2006, Aaron, who was worth an estimated half a billion, left Tori, $800,000.
He told her how much he was leaving her in a conversation before he died.
“When I had the conversation with him, was I shocked? Yes. Upset? No. I could see how convinced he was we’d be OK and I couldn’t be mad at him,” she said. “I never counted on money from him and won’t now.”
Mom and daughter made a tentative peace after the birth of Tori’s son, Liam.
On her Web site, Candy says she hasn’t read the memoir, but Tori hopes she will.
“I hope she learns about me and gets to know me from reading the book,” Tori said. “I’m someone she’d be proud of as a daughter.”
