On the next “TV One Access,” host Tatyana Ali and correspondent Quddus count down the most outrageous and fascinating reality television personalities. “The Most Entertaining and Embarrassing Reality Stars” is an hour-long special produced by TV One’s monthly entertainment news program, “TV One Access.” The special premieres Sunday, March 28, 2010 (check local listings) on cable’s TV One.
In this episode, “TV One Access” profiles the ten most entertaining and embarrassing reality personalities. The show takes a look at the stars whose romantic pursuits, uncanny lifestyles, and legal troubles have made them icons in our society, and how their efforts have been met with amusing—and sometimes disastrous—results.
Among the most entertaining reality television stars is Omarosa Manigault-Stallworth, who rose to fame on the inaugural season of NBC’s “The Apprentice.” Shocking viewers with her combative personality and unusual business style, Omarosa became the villain that viewers loved to hate. Rapper Flavor Flav, on the other hand, found notoriety on television partly due to his eccentric behavior, outlandish wardrobe and embarrassing performances on the VH1’s “Flavor of Love” series.
“The advent of reality television has brought us some of the most spectacular moments in mainstream media. While many of these moments may be ones we wish we could forget, they are all the more real,” said Monique Chenault, Senior Producer, “TV One Access.” “Since the real people who delivered these moments are now undeniable figures in pop culture, we decided to examine how they so cleverly extended their 15 minutes of fame.”
Fashion tycoon Kimora Lee Simmons is best known for building the Phat Fashions empire, starring in her own reality program that follows her to runway shows, celebrity-filled parties and shopping sprees. Fans have embraced Simmons’ attitude of self-proclaimed “fabulosity,” while singer and former husband of Whitney Houston, Bobby Brown, has found himself in the center of many embarrassing moments which include numerous court appearances as well as brief stints in jail.
Topping the list of the most entertaining personalities is the cast of Bravo’s “The Real Housewives of Atlanta.” The quintet shot to stardom with their lavish lifestyles and sometimes shocking—but always entertaining—catfights. Leading the list of embarrassing reality stars is internet model turned television vixen Tila Tequila, who turned heads with her quest for bisexual attention on MTV’s “A Shot at Love.”
Also profiled in this one-hour special are hip-hop mogul Sean “Making The Band” Combs, record producer Irv Gotti, singer Ray J, and Reverend Joseph “Run” Simmons.
