LOS ANGELES, Calif. --
Lindsay Lohan has returned to her Twitter account to respond to her father, Michael Lohan’s, latest comments in the media and the recorded conversations between the two, which recently were posted online.
On Wednesday, in an interview that aired on Access Hollywood, Michael said he wants to see Lindsay back in rehab. Additionally, recorded conversations between Michael and Lindsay appeared on Radar Online with the actress in tears.
“he’s a deadbeat dad,” Lindsay wrote on Thursday in response to a Twitter user who reposted a link to a story about the voicemail recordings. “He’s disgusting to do this. He doesn’t deserve attention. He needs help.”
Lindsay noted that she expects the voicemail recordings to stop soon.
“Good news is, I haven’t called him many times @ all-so, it will end sooner than later!!! Lol,” she wrote.
The actress continued to insist that she does not deal with her father.
“Its so sad that I even have to share this w/everyone, but I haven’t had a real relationship w/Michael Sr. In years,” she wrote . “That is the truth.”
In his interview with Access, Michael claimed that his daughter has a problem with prescription drugs.
Yesterday, Lindsay’s attorney told Access Lindsay considers what Michael is saying to be “defamatory.” Her attorney also said Lindsay is in court ordered alcohol program and doing well.
On Lindsay’s Twitter, she claims her father would come in and out of her life while she was young and would come “home after being gone for several days while cheating on my mother&abusing substances,” she wrote responding to another Twitter user.
The actress said she and her family continue to be affected by Michael’s choices on Wednesday.
“it really hurts my mom for me and my siblings. I’d feel the same if I were a mother,” she wrote.
The actress wrapped up her slew of Tweets about her father by writing that she is hoping to set an example with her messages.
“I just hope I can show others how to be strong through times & to be able to stand up for yourself and loved ones no matter what! :)” she wrote.
Michael Lohan could not immediately be reached for comment.
Lindsay also seemed to claim that her mother’s life was threatened by Michael, when the two were married.
“she blames herself for staying w/him for so long, I’d beg her not to leave b/c he always threatened to kill her if she did,” Lindsay Tweeted.
But Michael Lohan shot down that comment on Friday in a new interview with the New York Post.
“That’s a lie,” he told the paper. “I guess Lindsay is on more drugs than I thought to say something like that … No wonder why God is taking her entire career away from her. Because she’s forsaken everything He’s given her and she’s done nothing but misuse all the gifts she’s given.”
