LOS ANGELES, Calif. --

In the wake of Michael Jackson’s sudden death, a scene featuring La Toya Jackson in Sacha Baron’s Cohen’s new comedy “Bruno,” has been cut from the film prior to Thursday night’s Los Angeles premiere, Access Hollywood has learned.

“Out of respect for the Jackson family, the filmmakers have decided to remove a small scene involving La Toya Jackson,” a Universal Pictures spokesperson said on Friday.

La Toya, Michael Jackson’s older sister, made an accidental cameo in “Bruno,” similar to one by Paula Abdul, where she was coaxed over to a home in Los Angeles for an interview with the fake Austrian fashion journalist.

A source at Universal, the studio behind the film, told Access Hollywood on Thursday evening that the scene in the movie with La Toya, which involves a Michael reference, was cut from tonight’s premiere out of respect for the family.

And “Bruno” had another Michael Jackson connection on Thursday evening.

Mourners of the King of Pop were unable to pay tribute to the late singer at his star on the Walk of Fame.

The street where Jackson’s star is located was blocked off early in the day as crews set up for the “Bruno” premiere at the Grauman’s Chinese Theater.

Instead, fans put up flowers and memorial items around the star for radio broadcaster Michael Jackson.

Mourners for the King of Pop will be able to access his star beginning at 9 AM on Friday
