You’d think that 24-year-old actress Anna Kendrick would feel a bit of pressure, being in not one, but two, of the biggest films of the 2009 holiday season.
Rather, very unlike the hyperactive human Jessica character that she plays in “The Twilight Saga,” she is cool, calm and collected about the upcoming wave of publicity that she’s currently undergoing.

George Clooney says there is a lot he can relate to in his new movie “Up in the Air,” a comic drama about a man who travels across the United States to lay off people amid the financial crisis.
Like his character, Clooney says he has worked around the clock, at times to the detriment of his friendships and family relations. And while he doesn’t fire people for a living, Clooney says he had his fair share of layoffs before becoming a Hollywood star.

LOS ANGELES, Calif.
“Up in the Air” soars on so many emotional levels, I don’t even know where to begin. Maybe I should start with the 34th Toronto International Film Festival, where an audience full of jaded industry types let down their guard, embraced the movie and erupted into unanimous applause at the end of this deeply poignant and very funny 2-hour masterpiece. Such a reaction is rare at stuffy press screenings, which speaks volumes about its merits.
