LOS ANGELES, Calif. --

Shia LaBeouf was arrested on suspicion of drunk driving early Sunday morning and was taken to an area hospital, following an early morning crash which flipped his green Ford truck, authorities confirmed to Access Hollywood.

LaBeouf was involved in a collision at the corner of Fountain and La Brea in Hollywood Sunday morning at around 2:24 AM, authorities confirmed to Access.

“We responded to a call by LAPD. They were there before us,” Sgt. Scott Wolff of the West Hollywood Sheriff’s station confirmed to Access.“Mr. LaBeouf was transported from the scene to the hospital. Our deputies contacted him there. He was subsequently arrested, cited out and is currently at the hospital.”

The star of “Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull” was reportedly making a left hand turn when his SUV hit another vehicle. LaBeouf’s vehicle flipped during the collision.

Ambulances arrived on scene and transported LaBeouf and his passenger, a female, to a local hospital. The driver of the other vehicle, a female whose name is not being released, was also taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

LaBeouf’s passenger suffered minor head injuries. She and the driver of the other car were both treated and released.

LaBeouf suffered a minor head injury and an injury to his left hand, Los Angeles County Sheriffs confirmed to Access.

“His hand was smashed up pretty bad,” a spokesperson for the Sheriffs Department told Access.

The actor was prepped for surgery at 5:30 AM local time.

Prior to surgery, the actor was arrested at the hospital, where he remained.
