LOS ANGELES, Calif. --

Following news of Jett Travolta’s untimely death, his father and mother’s Hollywood colleagues provided the following responses.

John’s “Primary Colors” director Mike Nichols told People that he’s certain the Travolta/Preston family would continue to endure during this difficult time.

“They’re very strong. They have Ella. They have lots of people they love to take care of. And they will,” he told the mag. “But they have to have time for just plain grief.”

Sherry Lansing, former CEO of Paramount and longtime friend of the family, told the mag that John and Kelly are “two of the kindest, most decent people, and everything is about their family and everything is about their children.”

“Dancing With the Stars” judge Bruno Tonioli, a friend of Kelly’s, expressed his “deepest sympathy” for the actress, who he called “a wonderful lady, a wonderful mother.”

“He was their pride and joy,” Bruno said of Jett. “Their children are everything to them. There are no words to express how sorry I am; I am at a loss for words.”

Tim Allen, John’s “Wild Hogs” co-star, had the grieving family in his thoughts following Jett’s death.

“Jane, Kate and I wanted to extend our condolences to John, Kelly and Ella,” Tim wrote in a statement released to Access Hollywood. “We know how much they loved and adored Jett and words cannot express how sad we were to hear about his passing.”

John’s “Battlefield Earth” co-star, Forest Whitaker, expressed his sympathy for the Travolta/Preston family in a statement to Access.

“Our families have had a long loving friendship, and John and Kelly are amazing parents,” Forest wrote. “We have watched each other’s children grow and cannot imagine the loss of Jett. He was a bright and beautiful young man, and we are honored to have known him. We ask that you continue to send them prayers, love and give them space to mourn.”

Billy Ray Cyrus, who grew close to the Travolta/Preston family during the production of Disney’s animated hit “Bolt,” in which daughter Miley co-starred alongside John, sent his best wishes to the family on Sunday,

“Our thoughts and prayers are with John and his family,” Billy Ray shared with E! Online. “They’re great human beings and strong people. And, again, our thoughts and prayers are with him and his family.”
