A host of stars stepped out in Berlin, Germany on Thursday night for the 2009 MTV Europe Music Awards, but two in particular made major splashes – Beyonce and Katy Perry.
Beyonce picked up awards for Best Song for “Halo,” Best Female and Best Video for “Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It).” According to MTV U.K., Beyonce thanked her husband, Jay-Z, who also performed at the event, while accepting the statue.

When I opened the lid of Dolly Parton’s new box set, perfectly titled “Dolly,” I knew I was going to be in for a surprise. It’s a known fact around the office at Access Hollywood that I love me some Dolly — my office is peppered with Dolly memories — but I admit I have not listened to a lot of her oldies but goodies in quite a while.

There are few true singer - songwriters around today with the combination of complexity & honesty offered up by Billie Myers. While the music industry is changing drastically, Billie has not; and her third album, “Tea & Sympathy,” is her most personal to date. I had the chance recently to have lunch with Billie in LA and talk with her about her journey in making her latest album – which arrives a long nine years after the second. We talked about everything from musicians we both loved to crazy nights out in New York.
