LOS ANGELES, Calif. --

When it comes to naming their babies, celebrities pull out all the stops. Here’s our selection of the wackiest celebrity kid names in history.

1. Bronx Mowgli Wentz

The offspring of Ashlee Simpson and Fall Out Boy rocker Pete Wentz is named after the New York bureau and the hero of “The Jungle Book” – the Rudyard Kipling novel-turned-Disney movie. The Wentzes are big fans of Disney’s adaptations, having thrown an “Alice in Wonderland”-themed wedding and a “Winnie The Pooh”-based baby shower.

2. Pilot Inspektor (Jason Lee)

“My Name Is Earl” star Jason Lee’s son is all set for his first job – inspecting pilots, with a “k.” Add who mom is and how the kid was named (because of a “Grandaddy” song)

3. Kal-El Cage

Avowed comic book fan Nicolas Cage named his son after Kal-El, Superman’s Kryptonian birth name. (Earthlings know him better as mild-mannered reporter Clark Kent.) Cage’s Kal-El was born in October 2005.

4. Moon Unit Zappa

Oddball guitarist Frank Zappa gave all of his children unique monikers, from Dweezil to Diva, but none were more far out than daughter Moon Unit, born in September, 1967. Despite her unusual name, Moon grew up to be a successful actress, singer and writer.

5. Jermajesty Jackson

Following his brother Michael’s royal lead, Jermaine Jackson named his son Jermajesty. Michael’s third child is named Prince Michael II, but is more affectionately referred to by his father as “Blanket.”

6. Moxie CrimeFighter Jillette

Magician Penn Jillette pulled a baby name like a rabbit out of his hat when daughter Moxie CrimeFighter was born in 2005. You might as well have fun with the middle name, he reportedly said in a radio interview at the time.

7. Zuma Nesta Rock Rossdale

Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale drew on their love of a local beach (Zuma) and reggae (Nesta, Bob Marley’s middle name) to name their second child in 2008.

8. Rocket Rodriguez

Like the Kardashians and their “K,” all of “Sin City” director Robert Rodriguez’s five children have names beginning with “R.” Son Rocket is joined by brothers Racer and Rebel and sisters Rogue and Rhiannon.

9. Brooklyn Beckham

Named after the New York borough where he was conceived by parents David and Victoria Beckham, Brooklyn paved the way for Ashlee and Pete’s Bronx.

10. Apple Martin

Perhaps the only celebrity offspring to be named after a fruit, Apple is the, ahem, apple of parents Gwyneth Paltrow and Coldplay singer Chris Martin’s eye.
