Vin Diesel Honors Paul Walker At Crash Site
Vin Diesel visited the crash site where Paul Walker died over the weekend calling his late co-star an “angel.”
“If he could see for himself that all of you have showed up to show my brother love at this hard time, and the family gets to see all of you show the love that you’ve shown Paul, it’s going to stay with me forever,” Vin told the crowd gathered at the site where the actor and Roger Rodas died following a the crash of Rodas’ limited edition Porsche.
“I just wanted to say thank you,” Vin, speaking over a police car’s loudspeaker, continued. “Thank you for coming down here and showing that angel up in heaven how much you appreciated him.”
Vin also honored his late co-star on Facebook, referring to him as his character from “Fast & Furious.”
“Pablo, I wish you could see the world right now… and the profound impact, your full life has had on it, on Us… on me…” Vin wrote. “I will always love you Brian, as the brother you were… on and off screen.”
He also quoted Scottish poet Thomas Campbell in the post: “To live in the hearts we leave behind, is not to die.”
Walker’s family thanked fans for their support following the actor’s sudden death.
“Paul Walker’s family appreciates the outpouring of love and goodwill from his many fans and friends. They have asked, in lieu of flowers or other gifts, that donations please be made to Paul’s charity Reach Out Worldwide (ROWW). Donations can easily be made through their website at http://www.ROWW.org/,” a message on Walker’s Facebook read.
“It’s comforting for them to know that the son, brother, and father they love so much is equally adored, respected, and appreciated by so many. Paul founded the organization with the genuine desire to help others, and it’s important to his family to keep his memory alive through ROWW,” the statement continued.
As previously reported on AccessHollywood.com, Walker was killed in Valencia, Calif., on Saturday. He was 40.
The car the actor and Rodas were riding in crashed into a light pole and a tree and then burst into flames.
Walker was on hand for a fundraiser benefiting victims of the recent typhoon in the Philippines.
