Max Records in ‘Where the Wild Things Are’

LOS ANGELES, Calif.

In some ways, the film version of “Where the Wild Things Are” sticks pretty close to the source. But it may be a little too faithful, since there’s still not much of a story. In other ways, the movie is incredibly ambitious, but it may be a little too ambitious, depressing and not for kids. Chalk it up to an odd cinematic experience that’s visually stunning, but emotionally lacking.

LOS ANGELES, Calif.

Twelve-year-old Max Records took on some rough-and-tumble scenes in the role of Max in “Where The Wild Things Are,” but one thing he never had to worry about was a dirty outfit.

“There were 56,” he told Access Hollywood at the film’s junket of the number of wolf outfits in his costume closet.
