Lindsay Lohan’s arrest and rehab stint at Promises treatment center in Malibu have certainly garnered the actress some serious attention. She’s even made the cover of People magazine.

People’s Galina Espinoza talked with Access Hollywood and said this could be the wake up call Lohan so desperately needed.

“A lot of people are wondering if this time around is rehab going to take?” Galina told Access. “This is a girl whose been partying for a long time and her friends are wondering if it took something this serious for her to realize she needs serious help.”

People magazine also points the spotlight on Lindsay’s maybe too close relationship with her mother Dina.

“They’ve always hung out. They go shopping together. They talk makeup together. Dina even [Instant Messengers] Lindsay’s friends, but now instead of a friend, people are wondering if Lindsay needs a mom,” Galina noted.

Her partying is not only affecting her life - but also her career.

Because of rehab, she may miss promoting her new movie “Chapter 27” with Jared Leto. She was recently replaced by Sienna Miller in two different films - “A Woman of No Importance,” which she lost when she entered rehab for the first time in January and “The Edge Of Love,” when she reportedly couldn’t come to terms on salary.

However, production on her new film “Poor Things” is moving forward as planned, Access Hollywood has learned.

Lohan, who entered rehab on Monday following an arrest on suspicion of DUI, will not be replaced in the film and the producers will adjust filming to accommodate her schedule.

Producers Shirley Maclaine and Rob Hickman said in a statement, “In the spirit of helping Lindsay Lohan and her rehabilitation, we have been asked by Lindsay to comply with her wishes to continue working on “Poor Things.” We are trying to rearrange the shooting schedule to facilitate her working at the end of the shoot to coincide with the completion of her rehabilitation. We wish her love and the blending of mind, body and spirit.”

“Poor Things,” which also stars Rosario Dawson and Olympia Dukakis (along with Maclaine), is based on recent arrests and convictions of elderly women for exploits that have included scams and cons involving drug sales, insurance fraud and murder.

On the heels of Lindsay’s arrest, Access Hollywood has also confirmed that the California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control has contacted the Beverly Hills Police Department to determine if there should be an investigation into whether Lindsay and other minors were illegally served alcohol on the night of the crash.

John Carr, spokesperson for the Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control, told Access Hollywood his agency is determining if an investigation is warranted. According to Carr, whenever an alcohol-related crash occurs with a minor, his department will investigate where the alcohol came from.

So if the Beverly Hills Police Department does rule that alcohol was a factor, Carr’s group will officially begin their investigation.

Les Deux, the club where Lindsay partied most of the night, released the following statement to Access:

“Les Deux is a restaurant, open five nights a week, and there is no age limit for our patrons. Lindsay had dinner at Les Deux that night and waited for friends to pack up the DJ supplies, thus leaving Les Deux after closing. Because of the enormous paparazzi presence outside of Les Deux that night, we allowed her to stay late and wait for her friends. She was not drinking at Les Deux, and left driven by her driver.”
