NEW YORK, NY --

Will Ferrell is heading to the Great White Way in January in the new one-person comedy, “You’re Welcome America. A Final Night With George W Bush,” both Variety and the New York Times report.

The show will mark the comedian’s Broadway debut.

According to Variety, the production will be directed by Adam McKay, who wrote and directed popular Ferrell films “Step Brothers,” “Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby” and “Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy.” Adam is also Will’s partner on the popular comedy Web site, FunnyOrDie.com.

Not many more details are available yet, but Will’s expected to portray his famous Bush caricature from his years on “Saturday Night Live.”

According to Playbill.com, The New York Post previously reported that Will’s show will, “be autobiographical and include anecdotes about the comedian’s work on ‘Saturday Night Live.’”

Playbill.com further speculates that Will may also offer some of his other famous impersonations, including Neil Diamond, Robert Goulet and James Lipton.

Previews will begin on Inauguration Day, January 20, at the Cort Theater, and opening night is scheduled for February 1. The Production is scheduled to run only through March 15.

“You’re Welcome America” will be produced by Jeffrey Richards, Jerry Frankel and Steve Traxler, who also produced the Tony-winning Best Play from last season, “August: Osage County” and the upcoming revival of “Speed-the-Plow.”

In additional Broadway news, Variety also reports that popular 2007 indie musical film “Once” will be produced on Broadway, aiming for the 2010 – 11 season. “Once” won the Oscar for Best Song, “Falling Slowly.”
