William Shatner To Kick Off SAG Red Carpet With Champagne Toast

LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- Caption Captain Kirk himself, William Shatner, arrivesThe 15th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards red carpet will get a kickstart, thanks to William Shatner.

Shatner will open the red carpet at the Los Angeles Shrine Exposition Center with a Champagne Taittinger toast, it was announced on Friday.

Shatner is celebrating his first nomination for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Drama Series for his role as Denny Crane on ABC’s “Boston Legal,” and his fourth ensemble nomination.

The 2009 SAG Awards will be held Sunday, Jan. 25, 2009, at 8 PM ET/PT and will air on TNT and TBS.
