LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- Zac Efron revealed he turns to his family for support when he’s going through tough times.
“My family is my rock. I know they’re not going anywhere,” Zac said on Tuesday night, as he took part in a Q&A session for his new film, which he also produced — “That Awkward Moment.” “More and more I come to rely on my little brother to keep me grounded.”
And when family isn’t available, Zac said he turns to his social circle.
“I know my family’s always gonna be there, but then there’s also — as life changes, sometimes they can’t really be there for you in the way that you need so I’ll rely on my friends,” he said.
The question – about how the actors stay positive during difficult moments in life and work — wasn’t directly specifically at Zac and his recent rehab experiences, but came from a fan. It was read by a moderator at the Q&A session and directed at the trio of actors taking part in the interview — Zac, Miles Teller and Michael B. Jordan, who co-star together in the film.
During the Q&A, Zac also revealed the qualities he looks for in a potential romantic partner. Making the list? Someone who is “creative and smart,” self-confident and a person with “a nice smile.”
“That’s a good thing to have,” Zac added.
But, the actor won’t be looking for love on Facebook. He admitted he doesn’t use the social networking service.
“I haven’t really used Facebook before,” he said, when the moderator asked if he’d ever searched for information about a girl through the site. “I think I’ve been around friends when they’re looking at pictures or something like that on Facebook. I couldn’t even log on right now if I had to.”
“That Awkward Moment” opens January 31, 2014.
