Zoe Saldana was honored on Tuesday night for her blossoming film career and when Access Hollywood caught up with the actress, she took time to thank boyfriend Keith Britton, who she usually keeps quiet about.

“I feel like the partners that stay at home… they have their lives, but they’re the ones that are living with the real you,” Zoe told Access Hollywood’s Shaun Robinson on Tuesday at the Women In Film 2010 Crystal + Lucy Awards in Century City, Calif., when asked about her beau.

“I think that they need to be recognized, every now and then, every 10 years, just come out in public… put him on the spot and just say thank you,” she said of her decade-long relationship with Keith.

The “Avatar” and “Star Trek” star said her man is very supportive of her life in the spotlight.

“He’s a very independent soul. He understands what I do, but this is not what he fell in love with and that’s what I love,” Zoe said.

Additionally, the 31-year-old actress said her entire family keeps her in check.

“I have an amazing family that that keeps me grounded,” she explained. “I come home and they’re like, ‘OK, drop the facade, be Zoe, go do the dishes and speak to us sincerely.’”

During the awards ceremony on Tuesday night, Zoe was honored with the 2010 Max Mara “Face of the Future” award.
