Access Hollywood Announced New ‘Live’ Show Coming To Daytime TV

Access Hollywood is about to go “Live”!

A new, one-hour daily entertainment news talk show, Access Hollywood Live, is set to premiere on NBC Local Media stations’ daytime schedule in September 2010, it was announced today by Barry Wallach, President, NBC Universal Domestic Television Distribution and John Wallace, President, NBC Local Media.

Access Hollywood Live will premiere on six NBC Local Media stations including WNBC-TV New York, KNBC-TV Los Angeles, WMAQ-TV Chicago, KNTV-TV San Francisco, KNSD-TV San Diego and WVIT-TV Hartford.

Access Hollywood Live will focus on the latest celebrity dish, opinions, Hollywood happenings and all the day’s big news. The new show, which will be broadcast live, will feature in-studio guests, a cast of regular contributors and female-friendly segments on the most up-to-date styles, fashion, design trends and more.

“The team at ‘Access Hollywood’ does entertainment news better than anyone and we are thrilled to extend this successful franchise to a new daypart,” said Wallach. “’Access Hollywood Live’ is going to give the daytime viewers on the NBC Local Media stations an opportunity to get all the latest Hollywood news, styles and trends in a live new format.”

“We’re excited to work with the team at Access Hollywood to add a new, live entertainment program to our daytime lineup,” Wallace added. “’Access Hollywood Live’ will be a great complement to our new fall schedule, offering viewers the latest news and information from the entertainment world in real-time. The show is the latest investment we’ve made in daytime for our stations, and we look forward to its launch.”

“We are honored to have the opportunity to create and produce this new show and expand the successful ‘Access’ brand,” said Access’ Executive Producer Rob K. Silverstein. “We are excited to bring a fresh, fun and fast-paced new show to daytime.”

Access Hollywood, which is currently in its 14th season in national syndication, was recently renewed by the NBC Local Media group through 2014.
